CARF Privacy Policy

CARF respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its website and has implemented the following policy. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on this website.

CARF does not collect any personal information from users browsing its website.

To gain access to members-only resources on the CARF website, members will be issued a username and password.

CARF does not disclose credit card account information provided by its Members and Non-Members. When Members and Non-Members choose to pay using their credit cards, CARF submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

This website contains links to other websites. CARF has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of these sites.

CARF retains a list of CARF member firm representatives and others to send notices of CARF seminars, workshops, and other educational, communication or social events, (usually via email). If you wish to have your name, affiliation, address and email address added to this list please email carf@tvb.ca If you believe that your name is on this list and you wish it removed please also email carf@tvb.ca.

CARF keeps track of the types and names fof firms that have representatives at seminars, workshops and other educational events in order to see if these events are meeting the needs of various member and possible member constituencies and to improve service delivery. CARF does not release any data naming firms or persons. CARF may release information from time to time on aggregations of these data.

Registration Policy

Registration for monthly seminars and workshops and special events is final. No refunds are provided for non-attendance to events for any reason. CARF does permit substitutions for originally named registrants who are unable to attend.

Terms and Conditions of Online Purchase

Payment is made with a major credit card only. We accept Visa® and MasterCard® in Canada. Registration prices are based upon Member, and Non-Member rates. Applicable taxes will be added.

We reserve the right to limit sales, including the right to refuse sales. If a large group (greater then 10) is to be registered for an event, please contact the office to see if a discount may apply.

All funds are in Canadian dollars.

The Foundation was established in 1949 along with the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and the Institute of Canadian Advertising (ICA). CARF plays an important role in keeping its members aware of developments in advertising, communications and media research and as an independent body, assists in evaluating advertising and media research methods and studies. It is presided over by a board of directors that meets regularly in Toronto.
